He`s doing episode ten (according to the BBC News site) - that`s the one with the Absorbaloff, the monster designed by a Blue Peter viewer. Maybe that`ll be the one with the Eastenders bit in as well.

I`m starting to get the shudders about this series and not in a nice way-can somebody reassure me it won`t be all "wink, wink, arn`t we clever?"

I know there can never be an answer unless Chris Eccleston blurts it all out in an interview, but is it possible that Chris E saw what was coming and bailed out because of it?
Personally I liked the edginess CE gave the Doctor, the Christmas Invasion didn`t give me enough of an impression of David Tennant to see what kind of Doctor he will make. But I definitely liked Chris and was sorry to learn he left the series.

Does this mean Peter Kays new catchphrase will be `dalek bread`

OK DW obsessive here (I know you all know that).
At times I still think RTD thinks he is reworking the Cushing Movies rather than the TV series (loathe & detest the interior of the external doors being visable, the 60`s & the 70`s managed that effect very effectively (The Daleks & Pyramids of Mars being prime examples of the interior to exterior pov).
The RTD scripts were the weakest for me of all the stories of the relaunch, he may have had a knack of cross referencing it in his non-who work cleverly, but his tales have left me underwhelmed with endings or plot holes especially when compared to the likes of Unquiet Dead, Dalek, The Empty Child\Doctor Dances & Fathers Day (The Long Game & Boom Town fall somewhere into limbo).
I reserve judgement on the new series granting the casting news & hope the stories not written by RTD far outshine those of his (unless he can lose the homosexual references\in-jokes (its still a kids show that adults\family enjoy), the solving everything by blowing the character up (Max & Cassandra) & not thinking things through properly.
The highs of the relaunched series were clearly not his scripts & the lows equally his with others at times IMO (farting aliens & burping wheelie bins especially).
I consider myself an optimist, albeit an optimist with cynical tendencies and a dark side that Lucifer himself would find a little creepy. (Perhaps you've noticed.) You don't normally associate cynicism with an upbeat pov. But I have exactly that combination and will defend it.

I`m wondering if he intends to have a episode with a tv program link in every series. I just hope the Eastenders story is not some kind of set visit with the stars, and is set maybe in some warped off-world adventure that has *Eastenderland on a space-station. But I`m not looking forward to it. I`m still not fond of the USA formated 44 minute episode running times. It takes a two-parter to get a proper story.
*I have a feeling he has said something like this during an interview last year.
Cracking toast, Gromit!
... If found, please return this person to the insane asylum, as it really annoys them when people do that :¦

I`d prefer at least a hour long to give it some added depth (or reduce the Slitheen amount of airtime).
