Page 1 of Bright Red Oversized Cod Piece

Hello all, I need your help on this one.

At the weekend I am holding a 80`s theme party where anything 80`s goes and I want to go as Larry Blackmon of Cameo fame.

Now for those of you who do not remember Cameo they were an American 3 piece who had a couple of top 10 hits in the early 80`s. Mainly "Word up" a funk dance track. Mr Blackmon wore black lycra leggings, vest top a black leather jacket and fingerless leather gloves. All this I can get hold of. What really caused a storm and a post bag full of complaints to the BBC after thier performance on top of the pops was his bright red oversized cod piece. This I am finding hard to get hold of. Any ideas?

Have you tried Paper Tiger? They usually have lots of novelty/joke stuff of this ilk. Or maybe that shop opposite BHS, next to Brook Street - you know the one I`m talking about.

Those not from Leicester reading this will probably be utterly confused...

I once made one (don`t ask.... oh all right, it was for a spoof Shakespearian actor sketch), out of the top of a milk carton (4 pint plastic one with handle, cut diagonally), and a polystyrene ball glued on top where the lid would normally be. Sprayed it with car paint (black gloss, in this case).
Looked absolutely vile - not quite a reproduction of the Cameo special, though.

Thanks for the ideas. At the moment I am trying to carve one out of foam but it is harder than I thought it would be.

Buy yourself a cricket `box` from a sports shop and paint it red......large ones aren`t that expensive....so I`m led to believe.
