E bay Muppet - Your opinion please

kakuzato (Competent) posted this on Thursday, 30th November 2006, 14:48

Hi,

I purchased a book from the said muppet 2 weeks for which I paid immediately via Paypal. I have not heard a thing from him, no confirmation e mail - nothing. I have sent him 2 e mails asking where my purchase is to no avail. I thought I could trust him as he has a total feedback of 138 (100%). I now want my money back and wish to go through paypal. My questions are:

Is it worth going through paypal for £2.75?

Should I neg the mother...... to hell or should i give him a bit longer?

Thanks
:D

P.S. Avoid him at all costs - his username wulber1973 ;)

With such good feedback and selling something of relatively small value, he is bound to be genuine. Don`t neg him yet. You can get his telephone number off eBay by filling in certain screens (go through the help screens to find it) and ring him up. I know it involves entering his username and the item number that you are purchasing from him (to prove you have the right to the information)

He could have flu, anything. Chances are it`s a real problem, not just a scammer trying to rip you off.

Once you have contacted PayPal to get a refund, it mucks everything up, and then you can`t physically pay him for the item. Give the guy a fair chance!

I`ve just recieved a message from a member who was won an auction for a DVD I was selling. They paid on Sunday and has just demanded to know where this item is!! Four whole days for crying out loud!?! I sent one back stating I was waiting for their paypal payment to clear. Is that fair of me or has this person got a point?....... :/

Four days is too soon to be hassling you with e mails re delivery. I`ve been waiting 2 weeks with the seller I purchased the book from. Send them an e mail saying you`re waiting for their payment to clear.

Eh?
Paypal payments don`t have to "clear", as soon as they pay you, it`s in your Paypal account!
Sorry but if someone sent me an e-mail saying that I`d think they were taking the p***!

Are you 100% on that? Cos i thought although it showed it could still be retracted. It only realy clears after about 4-7 days.

Don`t know about payments being retracted, never happened to me, but I know that as soon as the money shows in your account you can either spend it online or pay it into your bank account and that seems pretty "clear" to me!

Stories like this are making me so hesitant about selling my stuff on eBay.
