My veccy nearside front & rear Pirelli P6000 tyres are coming to the end of their life

Can any body recommend decent tyre as there are so many brands to choice from

Quite fancy Michelin Pilot Sport but so far they are weighing in at £90 for each tyre (includes fitting)

Tyre size in question is 205 55 R16 Speed rating V

What ever you do, don`t mix cross ply and radials. You may just live to regret it.

Brilliant tyres,especially in the wet.
No idea for prices for your size,but I`m only £106 each fitted for 225/40 18 inchers.

Bowfer, what sort of mileage do you get out of these? I`m in the market for something to replace the Continentals on my Mondeo that have only done 11,500 miles - I was looking at the Pilot Sports as well - I`ve always got around 20K out of Michelins in the past.

I was going to get a set of pirelli p6000 for my mondeo but read there is a new version due soon, P7`s you can get them at blackcircles.com fairly cheap although a few tyre places will price match.

I got to roughly 25,000 when the fronts needed replacing, just about to hit 50,000 and all 4 will need to be changed shortly.

The other thing I would suggest is if only your nearside is worn then get your tracking/alignment checked, then put the 2 offside tyres on the back and the 2 new ones on the front

I`m very hard on tyres,as I don`t pay for them (company car).
I look for grip more than longevity.
F1`s grip like hell,but I`ll be lucky to get 13000 miles from them.
I do know people that have got 18000 miles out of F1`s though.

If I paid for tyres,I would imagine I would look for ones made of stone or teflon.

Thats exactly what has happen with both nearside front & rear, they are scrubbed on the outside tread, although as the wear is less that 20% of the surface of the tyre they are still legal (stealership told me that)

Remember reading a while back that these were quite good for the more budget conscious...

Our only do Michelin (all the different types - Energy, Primacy etc.) and the last time I got my tyres they were at least £15 - £20 per tyre cheaper than elsewhere.
