What`s you annual Gas/Electricity bill?
Just had our new bill for the next 14 months through from Scottish Power, and I was staggered to find that they have increased our direct debit (without asking mind you) by a tenner a month.
When we first switched from SWEB they estimated our annual gas/electricity consumption to be around £460 per year, and around two years later this has almost doubled. We live in a three-bed semi and I consider our bill to be excessive.
Admittedly I do have a fair amount of electrical gadgetry, but I don`t leave it on 24/7 and we don`t have kids, so we don`t have to do loads of washing, ironing and cooking. We only have our central heating on for 2-3 hours a day as well, which doesn`t seem much to me. It seems that services are going up all the time; bloody council tax will be next.

RE: What`s you annual Gas/Electricity bill?
As with all the companies, ours has shot up. Now paying a touch under £1000/year.
Gas central heating and hob. All the rest electricity.

We will pay the price but we will not count the cost..

Have a look at Ebico Equigas/Equipower. They`re a non profit company so ought to be one of the cheapest out there. They`re supplied by one of the big companies (Southern I think?). And they`re Christian and Fairtrade too, if you like that kind of thing.
I used to be with Ecotricity, but they pricematch Powergen, and I just couldn`t pay that much.

I`m amazed by all these costs being thrown around.
I pay mine by direct debit.
I have a 4 bed detached house.
Gas central heating,water and hob.
I pay £35 a month gas and £25 a month electricity.
Last statement I got,I was £58 in credit with the gas.
Both with Scottish hydro electric.
I`m due a statement soon,so it`ll be interesting to see if I`m due them extra this time round.
The cost of living is getting ludicrous in this country though.
When fuel becomes a luxury item,we really are going to hell in a hand cart. >:(

I am with Powergen. Pay £61 per month combined heating. Live in a 2 bed Semi (albeit a f***ing freezing one). I always seem to owe them money even though I rarely have the heating on. 2 years ago I was paying only £31 per month, and my heating was always on (different house mind you, but around the same size)
RE: What`s you annual Gas/Electricity bill?
Ive got a 3 bed end of terrace with me and my son living in it (both of us on a p/time basis!) and pay £40 for gas and £23 for electric a month with Southern gas. They wanted £65 a mth for the gas but just had to have my boiler changed to a combi as the old back boiler died so hopefully should notice the difference in the bills. Far too expensive for my liking :(

My last 4 quarters (2006) add up to just over £800 for a 3 bed mid-terraced house. Heating, water and cooker on gas, the rest is electric.
4 years ago (2002) the year cost a few pence less than £525, so that`s a £275 increase in 4 years! Mainly on the electricity. Our gas has always been incredibly cheap as we have a mega-efficient boiler.
We are with EDF, who used to be Seeboard, for both, which is supposed to make it cheaper... :/

Seriously, check out Ebico and see if they are any cheaper.

Use uswitch to see who supplies in your area.
Mine is currently £42 gas and £35 electricity.
Summer credits are soon worn down in the winter. Although I don`t think it`s been too cold yet. Just wet and windy and miserable... :(
