Multiple Sclerosis - Advice Req`d

Hi All

I recently developed double vision and was sent for an MRI scan. The result of this is I was told there is a possibility I have MS. l will be getting sent for tests soon to get confirmation one way or the other.

Whilst looking about on the internet, a few web sites advised me to take out insurance BEFORE the condition is confirmed. Can anyone advise me what I should be looking for? I`ve never taken out insurance on anything in my life but I don`t want to leave a financial pressure on my partner should the worst happen as I am the biggest earner although I am on a long term temping job.

Also, I assume I should arrange my holiday insurance immediately also? (I`m going to Egypt with my bf - our first holiday in 10 years!)

Can anyone assist me with this or point me in the right direction.

I would think, as it`d be noted as a possibility on your medical notes now, that you`d have to declare it when applying for insurance. They can be very fussy about these things (seen Watchdog lately?) and last thing you want is to pay for years then find they wont pay out.

One of my relatives was in the same position a couple of years ago. It wasn`t supposed to be confirmed as MS until after a second "episode", so they applied for more insurance before it was to confirmed, but they were refused as their doctor had already put it on their record when the insurance company checked up.
I hope that you check out OK, but if not, do check out all of your options. I`ve known (well) 4 people that have been diagnosed, and they were all affected in different ways.
