Are my neighbours taking the p*** or what?

dusty321 (Elite) posted this on Thursday, 7th June 2007, 02:56

Get this, I spend £125 getting my curb lowered £25 for a T-bar white line to be painted on the road, £250 for gates and a tarmac surface to park my car on and these lazy workshy scumbags are STILL parking across my driveway preventing access!!!!!!! This has been going on for 2 weeks now and I`m really getting p***ed off! You know I`m half tempted to get my mate down with his land rover and drag the cars out the way, i`m so fired up you could use my blood as rocket fuel just now......

Help, seriously what should I do?

I know this is irrelevant to your problem, but £125 to get your kerb lowered?

That is SO NOT FAIR!!!

The paths in our estate are owned by KCC Highways, and each resident that wants to convert their garden into a parking area has to pay them £2000 to get the kerb lowered! (That`s just wide enough to drive a car up to the parking area) They won`t allow residents to do the work themselves as it has to be to "KCC Standards".

What`s worse is that if you don`t pay it and try to just drive up over the existing kerb, they have been threatening to charge for repairs as they claim it damages their kerbs!

£125...I`m steaming at that price! >:(

And yeah, I`m with the Ogster here - drag them out of the way! Ignorant ****`s!

Why not get one of your mates to nick their car one night and torch it in a field somewhere? A bit extreme I know, but then at least you can park outside your house.

...I thought £250 was cheap for gates and tarmac too...

Anyways, I suppose the first thing to do is put notes on their cars so that they are aware that it`s a problem and they`re not just harmlessly parking.

Doesn`t seem to have been mentioned so hope this isn`t a stupid question but have u tried talking to these neighbours?... and if you have would I be correct in thinking they acknowledged what u said but then completely ignored it.

No, don`t do that. Just get a "mate" to nick it, leave it somewhere for the police to find easily and put sugar in the fuel tank and sand in the engine. That way the police will find the car intact and not burnt out, so the work shy scum won`t be able to collect on the insurance which is possibly only 3rd party F&F, but it will soon cough its guts out when they drive it away!

They evidently are taking the p***.
But you have the law to back you up now.
That`s the difference between before and now. 8)
