I know this has nothing to do with dvds bu i thought that someone on these forums may know the answer.

Why was the actress who played Jenifer in part 1 replaced by Elizabeth schue for parts 2 and 3.

Her name was Claudia Wells and it was probably because she was a s***e actress...

Elisabeth Shue was cast as Jennifer, and all the closing shots of Back to the Future (1985) were reshot for the beginning of this film. Persistent rumours are that Claudia Wells (Jennifer in Back to the Future (1985)) was in no condition to act any more.

Given the fact that she`s hardly done anything in the last 15 years, I`d say those rumours look about right....

Blimey, there must have been a real problem with her to reshoot the end of the film. I mean there`s bad acting...and then there`s...

...it puts the Eric Stoltz re-casting into perspective...

Hmm can`t have been the acting. She wasn`t that bad. Perhaps she was pregnant? :)

She was certainly not as bad as Elizabeth Shue right at the end of the 3rd film where she asks the doc about the piece of paper she found and how it had changed after they dicked about with the timeline. I can`t remember the exact line but it was the funniest thing in the trilogy. Total muppetry!
