Crossroads? Coronation Street? He he he... I just couldn`t resist!
RE: can ne1 recommend a good comedy
Hedwig and the Angry Inch takes the subtle humour of Spinal Tap and mixes it with the gender bending musical rock of Rocky Horror Picture Show. But if you don`t like even one of those three then maybe it isn`t for you. :)

I have to agree, Shaolin Soccer is the funniest (and coolest) movie I`ve seen in about 5 years...

To follow up the stand up stuff - the Bill Bailey one ("Bewilderness") is excellent (if you like BB!)
RE: can ne1 recommend a good comedy
Austin Powers 2 - one of the funniest DVDs available and one you can watch many, many times and you`ll never get bored of. Also contains a bucketload of extras and excellent picture quality.

Mallrats is one of the best comedys ever. Shrek is hilarious. Shaolin Soccer is supposed to be ace (8.1 on imdb) I have ordered that. Rat race is out on dvd next week. You can never go wrong with monty python.
Ferris Buellers Day off is very funny
