Hi. Ive just got through to the third round of trying to get a job of being postie.

The thing is does any1 know how much a postie earns when their contract is 29 and a half hours part time?

They is nobody to speak to becus it is all online at the moment. 1st had to fill in application form and then if you got through that ok you had to do two tests to see if you can sort the mail via the postcode and then by the street name and the postcode at the same time.

Ah, I see! So when do you do the "Can you outrun a yappy dog trying to bite your ankle" test? ;)

According to the RM website:
Quote:
Basic Pay
As a guide, new employees aged 18 and over will receive basic pay of around £256 a week for full-time hours rising to £285 - £311 after 1 year. This rate will be on a pro-rata basis for part-time hours. Higher rates are paid in Inner and Outer London and in some parts of the South East.

So I guess it depends on how many hours are classed as full time and you could work it out from there.

I recall one post (another forum, I think) where one poster claimed their mate earned £30k a year as a postie.
Aye, right.

My bro-in-law was your good old fashioned postie.
Used to put the lottery on for old people, run errands for them etc.
It was discouraged to the point he jacked it in.
Drives a cab now, making money he could only dream about in the GPO.
Posties all seem to look and act like the one out of Viz now, which is worrying.
