Page 1 of 1980`s help...
General Forum
Weeks ago me and the missus were invited to a friend`s 40th birthday party.
Up until yesterday we couldn;t make it - now we can...
This leaves us 4 days to find "costumes" in the style of 1980`s.
The main theme is "Ashes to Ashes" because the do is being held at the police club.
But i`m thinking along the lines of movie fashion for us.
So far I have come up with Miami Vice for me - as i have a grey suit - just need a pink or blue t shirt and roll up the suit sleeves.
But also keen to look at other classic 80`s bands or movies.
Can you help? It needs to be simple and will need to get hold of items from either our own wardrobes or charity shops...let`s create!!

I find it kind of funny, I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which i`m dying are the best i`ve ever had.
What about John Hughes films? Ferris Bueller? Save Ferris t-shirt? :)
Or maybe go as a stock broker with a huge giant mobile phone?
Ghostbusters was out in the 80s...

Gav - you need to wear more make up than your Missus to look like you`re from the 80`s! ;)
Silver grey suit - pad up the shoulders a LOT. Bandana/neckchief round neck and spikey hair with loads of make up.
Cool! :D
Black jumpsuit and a red belt, you are a Numanoid.
If only I could fit into mine now...
Some food for thought...
The missus is swaying towards flashdance/fame type outfit at present.
I went as a ghostbuster once to a fancy dress party - i was 5.
I wonder if my parents still have it...

THO dyed my hair black last week (calling it black though is a bit of a understatement (:¦), I look like Gary Numan (now without the suit) & can`t get his songs out of my head, especially I Die You Die.

Won`t it be a bit small by now?
I consider myself an optimist, albeit an optimist with cynical tendencies and a dark side that Lucifer himself would find a little creepy. (Perhaps you've noticed.) You don't normally associate cynicism with an upbeat pov. But I have exactly that combination and will defend it.
Heartily glad that I don`t have to learn how to spell Chiwetel Ejiofor.
