Page 1 of Ebay Advice - Foreign Posting ?

Hi,

Have a PS2 and peripherals / games etc for sale on Ebay. I`m quite a novice with Ebay.

I`ve been asked "will you post to Portugal ?".

Just want a bit of advice - is this OK ? Or is it a scam !?

The item finishes soon, and has UK bids already - so any advice appreciated !!

(p.s. as I`ve not sold much through Ebay, I have to use Paypal. Can I get my money out of the paypal account easily ?)

I`ve always had a strict sell to Uk only policy. Too much can go wrong with sending stuff abroad.

As for PayPal, well, I haven`t attempted to withdraw money from it for years, but last time I did, it was pretty much eaten by commission/charges, so I didn`t get much! My policy with PayPal is if I get funds deposited into it, I spend the money on eBay or other sites that use PayPal to avoid the extra charges incurred by withdrawing.

Maybe it`s not so bad now - hopefully someone else with more up to date experience of it can clarify.

Personally I always post to UK only. Just don`t want the hassle of having to work out international postage costs, what happens if they want to return the item (or it turned up broken), and so on.

Plenty of buyers in the UK without having to resort to the potential problems and costs of sending to other parts of Europe.

Getting money out of your paypal account is easy, providing you have verified your bank account with them.

i have sent abroad no issues, just look at their feedback etc first!

I`d go with the flow - alter your settings to UK only!

I`ve sold a fair few items abroad but nothing as big as a console and bot had any problems. I guess that doesn`t help much really...

I wouldn`t bother sending abroad either, ebays seller protection stuff is only applicable if you have full tracking and signed for delivery but helpfully, the Royal Mail do not offer this!

RM stuff is only tracked in the UK and as soon as a buyer files a claim to say they have not received their item it`s pretty certain ebay/paypal will refund them out of your pocket.
