Scaredy Cat! Scaredy Cat!

OK. Imagine your on your own in the house, its 3am, pitch black, you have your widescreen TV on and surround sound with the volume turned right up.

Are there any DVD titles which would freak you out if you watched them?

Call me a sissy but I wouldn`t fancy watching some scenes from The Exorcist. I`d have no probems watching it in daytime, evening or with someone else but not at 3am on my own - especially with the surround sound turned right up.

I don`t know if I am bored of the genre but scary movies don`t scare me anymore. Aliens used to sacre the s***e out of me when I was 8 but now days nothing would make me cover my eyes. The only scene that came close was the torture scene in Audition, only because it was so horrible, not because it was scary.

Ive never really had a movie that scared me, but ive always wanted to have the cr*p scared out of me by a film, like when i was a kid. Nightmare on elm street 3 kept me up for years, i wish i could find a film that does that to me again,.. sigh.. oh well.

I went into "Blair Witch Project" on me lonesome with the lights dimmed and watched it from start to finish with the volume well loud.

Man, those owls in the woods at the bottom of my garden have never sounded so scary, I can tell you....

Dunno about movies, but I was locking up the house one evening, when there was an unearthly screech from the bottom of the garden. Aha, I thought, this is the bit in the movies where the guy grabs a faulty torch and goes to investigate. So, I locked the door and hid under the bedclothes.

Amityville 3: The Evil Escapes used to scare the s***e out of me... about the only film that ever did. Lost it`s touch now though. Had to have been the music.

Threads. Remember the docu film about nuclear war ?
It scared the life out of me as a kid. I can remember not sleeping for about three nights as the scene were the milkman hides under his float and subsequently p***es himself was replayed over and over in my mind.

So, not horror as such, but its a film that really scared me and made me realise what a threat nuclear arms are.

Oh and Amityville the book made me pass more than wind once or twice as well.

Pete.

I wonder if kids these days have any concept of how real nucular war is.

I remember seeing the docu you are on about. Strong stuff for a kid.

On to the thread though.

A perfect Storm.

It scares me that some one was aloud to make this s***.

All the best,

Andrew.

good one.

i think the first `proper` horror film (when i was 11 or whatever) was halloween 3:season of the witch. now that was a scary film; like tiklyrixx was saying, it kept me up for many years to come. haven`t seen since, not sure if i want to. spoiling the illusion and all that.

i remember making the fatal mistake of telling my mates about how the song from it "2 more days til halloween, halloween. silver shamrock" made me feel very ill and (unsurprisingly) they`d chant it at random times to me.

damn my childhood...
