My wife had a gorgous dress brought back from China by one of our ex students. The students parents own a shipping company in China & they don`t buy cheap. Recently my wife was having a clear out & decided that she would never use the dress so put it on ebay. She asked £3-00 for it. The person has given my wife bad feedback. She said "very poor quality, zip broke as soon as I put it on. awful material bin job!!!!". I will never trust feedback again. This was a really quality silk dress in perfect condition, never used, sold cheap & posted the next day, unbelievable. My wife is pretty ****ed off about it. What makes it worse is my wife has only sold 10 items, so she now has 90% feedback & had already given good feedback to the other person. Can that be retracted?

If the buyer never contacted you, I think you can get the feedback removed if they didnt give you a chance to rectify it.

Ditto. First step in an ebay complaint situation is to contact the seller/buyer in an attempt to rectify the situation. If they didn`t do this then complain yourselves to ebay to get the neg retracted.
Also, the very wealthy are the ones most likely to complain about the pettiest little things. 5 years in a hotel taught me that

RE: E Bay feedback. rubbish
I know this is ironic, given my other thread, But, eBay is generally unfairly stacked against small sellers, they really don`t give a **** about "the little guy" in general, ie not allowing a seller to leave negative feedback for a buyer etc, I appreciate the feedback system was abused by a lot of sellers (feedback hostage taking etc) but there had to be a better solution than just stacking it entirely in the buyers favour.
I would definitely contest the feedback, especially since the buyer didn`t try to resolve the issue..
Tbh, this kind of thing is why I never sell on eBay unless I`m very very desperate..
Forever <M.A.D>
I gave up selling items years ago because of the `pickiness` of buyers, I mean, the stuff is secondhand and if you give a true description of the goods, then there should be no arguments. But that is not the case sometimes.
My final straw that broke the camels back, was when I sold a quite rare edition of a Doctor Who double video which I had only watched the once, and it even contained an unopened script of the story.
The guy gave me bad feedback because I did not mention one plastic clip broken off from the double video case, that I failed to notice, or could had happened in transit to him. It was so pathetic I could not bother arguing !
I just stick to buying only on Ebay nowadays.
Thanks everyone for your help.
ditto,
Cant be with selling on ebay any more despite emails every friday offering me free listing all weekends.
Took a load of crap a few weeks back to a 2nd hand shop - got well under market value and probably under ebay value for it but a) didnt p*** about with descriptions/postage/potential negs etc.b) it took the bext part of 20 minutes.
Traded my old gear + £50 towards a pristine NAD amp and mission speakers to connect to my PC :-D
The things I`ve sold on ebay, I`ve had no problem with. Maybe I`m lucky with my buyers. :/

Last week sold an XBOX360 game. This week get an email from the buyer saying they hadn`t received it. I always send out `recorded delivery` so I tracked and traced it and there was an attempted delivery 4 days ago. Obviously postie never left a calling card.
Today I get another email from the buyer saying "What can I do to get the game to them!"

RE: E Bay feedback. rubbish
I`ve always had no trouble until recently when my wife ordered a silk Chinese dress. When it arrived it had a zip broken and was a cheap looking affair ....not as described. Not only that, she paid more than £3.00 for it.
Only kiddin`!! ;)
