Page 1 of I think i must be getting old!

Hi,

I am nearly 41 and starting to feel old

From the age of 18 i regularly went to raves and wore crazy acieeed shirts and mad styles of clothing.

I have kept up with all the styles since then wearing all the latest...Armani, G star...etc and still felt quite young for my age....but i think i have hit the wall now.....

When i dress up in trendy clothing, i just look like a tired old guy in some great clothes.

Unbelievably for me, i am finding that i quite like clothes from Next and Burtons

In a couple of years i will probably be wearing slack trackie bottoms with slip on shoes and a cardigan.....Bummer!

I`m the same age as The Doctor (No not 900+ years), 50 next year.

I usually shop at Winners (TK MAXX type store) & pick up Dockers & any other "label" that I find that:

• Fits
• Is on the clearance rail (Even if it isn`t its still a fraction of the price of Sears\The Bay want for the same item even if it`s on their clearance rails) ie sub $20\30.
• That it`s still chea...better value than budget brands.

Actually had a younger guy that throws me occasional work & staff in my local bar, comment favorably when they have seen me in the bar on a early evening before the lights get dimmed.  

THO naturally takes the opposite stance.

Shoes over here tend to be more expensive & as in the UK, finding it harder & harder to find anything comfortable. 

That said I recently picked up winter boots & boots trainers in a sale for a fraction of the original price, fortunately in the case of the former, as the following week I slipped on ice, sprained my ankle extremely badly & the double zipped boots were the only thing I could get to fit on my foot.



My outlook on life is positive & carefree, I`m positive that I`m a pessimist & I don`t care what what you think.



Never has so little had to be explained by me to so many so often.

Trainers (never expensive, even when younger),Jeans or combats, T shirt or sweat shirt depending on time of year.
My uniform since I can remember, and I take a strange delight in wearing the oldest, most frayed T shirt for the gym and pick the treadmill next to one of the heavily made up gym-bunnies that never break sweat.

Is so refreshing to hear men  saying how old they feel at  forty, imagine being 60!! n a lady trying to keep up with  life in general n family  and what everyone expects from you  and always trying to look your best, if not you will be critcize as an olde cow., from your own family members and your so call friends comments behind your back saying old dear she doesn`t look well today  maybe she is  ill or something, makes your day! So sweet young man I think I could relate in a way.

(That poor old dear ella doesn`t post much these days, is she ill or something? She doesn`t type so good anymore)

I bought some `slacks` at asda....trousers that are not as smart as suit trews but one up from jeans and chinos.

Now I can ask SWMBO `were are my slacks?`  which is great!

Got a `slipover` too.

And some nice black slip-on shoes.
