Aw man, I was hoping to buy my local branch and turn it into a shrine to mega-bonuses-during-record-loss-years and golden-handshakes. :(

Well looking at the list I`m going to be Co opted into the Co Op.
Lets see how much choice and what incentives are offered to switch or stay with Lloyds

I used to be with it, but then they changed what `it` was.
Now, what I`m with isn`t it, and what`s `it` seems weird and scary

I doubt they will be able to offer you anything. You will have been sold as part of the business. It would be theft to keep your details. So expect a call from them soon.

I would like the option of not using banks at all but it appears that is almost impossible now as companies insist on paying wages into banks. Utilities prefer direct debits etc etc.
Bring back the weekly/monthly pay packet option then the banks would have to work for your custom rather than now where they have got you by the short and curlies.

The TSB used to be a trustworthy bank like the Co-Op is supposed to be now.  If the banks made migrating between them as easy as they suggest, I`d sign up with the Co-Op double quick and so would my parents.

By Sept 2013 you should be able to switch between banks within 7 days including all your direct debits, standing orders and overdraft.

Did anyone see `Bank of Dave` on channel 4, where he was offering 5% interest for savers, and giving local industry bank loans at reasonable prices, where other banks had refused them loans.

He also gave profits to local charites in his town. The guy showd how banks should really work for the people, and not downtrod all over them.

The documentary showed the difficulty in red tape to beat the banking system of keeping interest down for savers, and making life difficult for borrowers, and the big banking bonuses mentality that prevails,

One of the funniest parts in this documentary was when dave phoned to find out where the key to the banks safe was, and it was behind the coffee jar

Big +1 on that, banks offer me absolutely zilch that enhance my life, quite the reverse, banks should be their for your benefit - not vice versa. They have forgotten a long time ago that we are customers - everytime i hear that smug bastard jimmy carr`s voice overs for barclays banks i want to throw a brick at the tv.
