If anyone has any sites or blogs they`d recommend for someone who is pig ignorant on this subject I`d be grateful.
No intention of trying to make a million just a huge gap in my knowlege of the world.
Maybe a fantasy shares thingy like the football if there is one.

I used to be with it, but then they changed what `it` was.
Now, what I`m with isn`t it, and what`s `it` seems weird and scary
It used to be worthwhile having a portfolio of shares, but the situation now is not that good during the recession, and the market is very unstable.
A lot of friends I know, have lost thousands in shares during the last four years.
I sold my telecom ones years ago (just like everyone else did), as you need a lot of shares, to make a lot, and you also have to pay taxes on any interest made, so unless you know your market, forget it.
If you win the lottery, do not go into share buying or buy a pub (the two most quickest ways of losing money by lottery winners, according to the lottery), just take holidays instead.
They used to say that, over the long-term, shares beat cash hands-down. Not sure if that`s still true, but have a look at The Motley Fool (www.fool.co.uk) for shares advice.
And if you invest through an ISA, you don`t pay tax on the interest, I think.
