A labour landslide
but one that could mostly be cleared away with a stiff broom with no need to resort to even a shovel.
If Starmer and co don't get this right it could go mammarys vertical in quite short order.

Well I am glad I missed it all on holiday abroad, and did not bother to vote.
Outcome was pretty much well known with a Labour landslide, especially when the Tories said they would bring back national conscription LOL. That was the final nail in the coffin.

The election really showed the problem with first past the post, instead of proportional representation, with some minor parties getting millions of votes but only a few seats.

Interestingly the Scots really hammered the SNP party and decimated the number of seats they had, likely due to their never ending mantra about independence with reunification with the EU and the Euro in your pocket. Well I think that SNP dream has now died (for now).

So are we going to be better off with Labour in I wonder? Or are we going to regret it, as Labour was well known in the past for taxes and yet more taxes. We wait and see.

So my take for what its worth, and I think its a worrying time indeed.

Yes labour got a landscape but for many reasons, mainly the Tories were so incompetent and corrupt even their own couldn't bring themselves to vote for them let alone the labour voters who jumped ship last election, even more worrying they got 3 million fewer votes than Corbyn got in 19!!!.

Labour were hammered in Muslim communities and by independent candidates who were pro Gaza unsurprisingly, more so Corbyn won as an independent showing the left wing labour voters and still there and haven't given up their party and Starmers vote in his own constituency went down from the last election!!

Scotland, SNP annihilation and as a supporter who has always and still wants independence I honestly couldn't care less, It will come at some point but not in my lifetime and thats before they committed hari-kari with they way they have governed and acted in the last 5 or so years, to relaunch the party they must go back to basics and concentrate on what brought them to the dance, good strong left wing policies and fairness.

Farage is a menace, the tories ignored him, that was the final nail in their coffin, Reform cost the Tories many Many seats and I can see them if not taking over from the tories certainly grabbing the voters for the next parliament or two and when as I fear labour fails (the state the tories left the country I dont honestly know how any party could succeed) then the Farage band wagon will start rolling, people will forget the s***show they inherited and we could go the way it seemed the French were going before they thankfully came to their senses with a right wing coalition especially if Cruella gets in and takes the Tories even further to the right.

Libdems I have a lot of time for as I think they and the greens are the most honest party (but I thought the SNP were so what the hell do I know!) are still just a protest party unless with the number of MPs they have the can actually make an impact.

Finally and most importantly the voting system has been shown up again with reform getting 500k more votes than the libdems and getting 5 MPs to Libdems 60+ it needs to be changed so every vote counts.

well my four penneth', whilst they have promised not to touch Income Tax/National insurance..

wait for the tax increases in other area's

1. Capital Gains Tax - a tax on those who work and save
2. Inheritance Tax - tax on those who work and save
3. Council Tax - prepare for a revaluation of properties (this will cost millions) and the amounts we all pay will increase!

They will never get my vote, but they were one of the least worst of a bad bunch.

The inheritance tax threshhold is half a million, and it's cumulative. So my parents could potentially pass on a million quid in cash and property before it gets taxed. Now if someone would please give them a million quid?

Same boat here, the Million is outside of my reach,

Thing is though whilst £1 million is still a s*** load of dosh, in this day and age, with the prices of properties, not just inside the Golden Circle of the M25, and for a lot of the older generation who invested in ISA's, stocks and share through all the privatisations, they will soon hit that threshold.

Should we penalize these people... we need to pay taxes, but I begrudge those who do nothing being better off than myself, with two jobs!
