A good film worth watching unless you`re of a nervous disposition and might make up for the disappointment of fing that The Prodigal Son was dubbed by texans instead of subtitled :(

***Spoilers***

I watched this after hearing the scariest ever horror hype, and actually wasn`t that impressed. Its another one of those films where I feel so much could have been done with the premise, rather than go in the direction they did. The whole 7 days to live didn`t build up much tension as I didn`t really care about the characters, especially the bloke who is killed (Ryuji I think).

I also couldn`t understand the thinking behind clearing the well out of water, when they might as well have just stuck their hands in (it wasn`t that deep anyway). The best scene was when Sadaka comes out of the telly, although I think this could`ve been handled far better (she wasn`t very scary for a start).

I`m hoping Ring 2 is better next week, and I`ve read that the recently released Ring 0 is the best one anyway. Has anyone seen either of these?

Ring was Sooooooooooo dull !

Nothing happens in those seven days leading up to their "deaths", and the whole backstory to the "creepy gal" was all non-sensical llob[at].skc

Very dissapointing.....I never thought I`d say this about a remake, but I bet the American version will be ALOT more entertaining.

I really enjoyed this movie although i did,nt find it scary, maybe because i watched it on a sunny saturday afternoon....did,nt want to take any chances from what i had heard about this movie.

Has anyone seen any of the sequels?...what are they like?

Actually DVDan I agree that maybe a USA remake could actually surpass the original. Maybe add some tension to the story for a start.
There`s also a Korean version of the film I think.

They could`ve made such a good film though out of the initial story. For a start they could`ve put something in to freak us out about while we wait for the predictable ending. It builds up to an anti climax that I`d heard was terrifying. Hopefully the other films fare better but from what I`ve read, Ring 2 isn`t that different.

I taped it at the time, and have only just watched it, and thought it was quite good actually.

However - spoiler follows -
I watched it on me jacks, stupidly on an old TV thats on the blink. Basically, the picture occasionally drops out with the loudest kind of fuzzy noise you`ve ever heard. Anyhow, as you`ve probably guessed, the picture drops out and starts going a bit mad just at the point where the bint starts climbing out of the well.
So I change my underwear, and carry on when the TV comes back on. Just as the bint is climbing out of the TV, I catch - out of the corner of my eye - the cat walking into my bedroom. Which shat me up a little more.

Needless to say, if the phone had rang just after I think I would`ve had a heart attack on the spot.

Anyhow - I don`t generally scare easy, but this film done an okay job on me. Probably more to do with the circumstances than anything else.

And am I just being picky - or did we go from Monday 13th sept, to Monday 19th sept and then Monday 20th sept?????
