AOTC gets a PG, and a cut!

On the BBFC web site, the decision for Attackof the Clones is up and its a PG.
There`s also a cut of a headbutt!!!
(Only 1 second though!)

I think it was fox`s decision so it got a PG rating instead of a 12, but it`s a bit of a cop-out since this was supposed to be the more `adult` movie to TPM. It would have been better if it got a PG rating but had a warning like LOTR.

I know what you`re saying, but it would have been down to Lucas as to what did and didn`t get cut. Fox are only the distributors. Lucas is adamant that he will not change his target audience for the Star Wars films, even though the original viewers have grown up.

i suppose a orc gettin his arm and head cut off was suitable for a pg rating with a warning but a little 1 second headbutt justifies a 12 rating????what a load of bollocks.
i know its only 1 second but it just goes to show how indifferent the bbfc guidlines are used by the censors.

What is it with the BBFC and headbutts? The Matrix, Tomb Raider and now AOTC. Strangely enough they allowed one in Shrek though

I beg to differ on the headbutting.

Personally I would rather it was cut. It`s something you see on many a Friday/Saturday night and should not be `encouraged`. It`s just plain nasty.

As for cutting off heads and arms etc, you don`t see that very often in `real life` and is actually hard to copy.

That is the point the BBFC are making (I think).

And that`s why it remained in a childrens film........

It is a shame, i have seen the scene and it looked really good.It is only a 1 second scene, but why cut it? You get to see the WWF doing that kind of thing and more on Sky TV night in, night out, and thats fine, but put it into a youth film, and its "No way, cut it out, think of the kids!"
The Matrix is a good example as well. 15 cert, swearing, guns, throwing of knives (all that can be done by kids these days), but have a head butt scene and it gets cut. Typical BBFC. Well enough of my moaning, am off to watch Bais Moi, a nice little french film the BBFC found fit to pass virtually uncut!!
