Region hack for AD-L 528

I have tried the hack for the 528 but get no Set-up screen after pressing 1,9,9,9. Is there something that I am missing? Is this hack restricted by the Firmware version that I have and if so, is there a way that I can check exaclty what version of firmware I have. Any other advice? Please help

open the drawer

press STOP then 1 9 9 9

menu should appear

Thanks. That is exactly what I tried but I did not get the set-up screen. Is this hack maybe restricted by my firmware version? If so how can I check exctly what version I have?
