Hack Help Forum
Is it true that some of the newer stock of whardale dvd players can no longer be hacked. I heared this is some magazine i wanted to know before i bought.
Also is there anyway of making sure the code works without buying a region 1 disc first.
As far as we know it is just a rumour started by incorrect info in a paper mag. I successfully hacked my brother`s machine tonight coincidentally.
I cant imagine Tesco will let you try it out before you buy, but they are very good when it comes to customer service and should take it back if you are in any way unhappy with it.

Hmmmm
I bought my Wharfedale DVD-750 2 weeks ago and can`t hack it at all
Which is very disappointing indeed
Make sure when you are following our instructions, that the machine is getting the IR signal when the tray is open. Cos of the design with the tray being above the display you have to watch for this - and make sure you press the buttons firmly.
Thanks for the message but it still doesn`t work
The sound is fine, but the picture is most definitely not
- sigh -

I bought a Wharfedale at the weekend and the hack worked perfectly. I can even route it through my vcr without any sign of macrovision but I have been told that its only because my vcr(aiwa fx4500) is not affected by it. Whatever the reason, I have had no problems hacking it
If the sound is fine but the picture is not, then your TV cannot handle NTSC video. Which is unrelated to the hack. If the hack doesn`t work you know it because it will refuse to even start up a Region 1 disc.
Right
That`s it then - thanks for that John

Or rather, thanks Robert

Heh you`d be amazed (or maybe you wouldn`t?) at the number of emails I get sent to my middle name, mostly from European countries other than the UK, which leads me to believe its a custom, or something.
