Page 1 of LG 3200E - Message for Slim, Mark Obrien & Techie Freak RE:Hack

Hi guys,

I caught up with the thread about the remote hack for the LG 3200E, tried it at lunchtime on mine and it didn`t work.

Mark, how old is your machine ? is the hack still working OK ?

Slim, did you try this out on yours ? did it work ? not work ?

Techie Freak, thanks for the tip can you shed any light on where you got this info from or is I could tell you but then I`d have to kill you !!

Any responses would be appreciated.

Yeah it worked fine on mine, had no probs at all..

R u doin the hack properly??

Maybe u have a differnt firmware than mine has???

Theres a thread somewhere on ere that tells u haw to get the firmware up on screen, i`ll try and find it and put up what i get on mine and u can see if its the same as urs and if it is, the hack shud work!!

Back shortly and will edit this post with the results..

Checked out the IT troll`s web site and it had on there how to check the firmware.

Mine came up with:

Is this the same as yours ??

Got it off the DrDVD site.

Seems to be a mixed reaction though cos a mate tried it and I talked him through it and it didn`t work.

Probably a certain batch I guess. Best thing to do is if anyone would like to put there boxes serial code an batch number on this page we might see a trend.

Looking at the firmware on slims machine and compared to mine it looks like the newer version the hack works i.e. 1.1

I might start a new thread in the new year calling all LG 3200 owners and see if there is indeed a trend.

My hack is still working fine. It seems like if you only have V1.0* of the firmware there is no hack, but everyone else is fine!

Mine is really new V1.2

Hi Guys,

Took your advice and hacked my LG 3200E. I`m in Region 2 and entered `0` at the prompt. Then inserted a Region 1 DVD and it plays. However, the picture is in black and white and quality is poor - looks like there is a mesh over it. When I put a Region 2 dvd in it goes back to colour.

I was wondering if I should power the unit off to reset and re-enter the hack with Region 1. Anybody else got this problem?
