How to return Philips DVDR1000 back to normal?
I have a Philips DVDR1000 recorder and tried the multi-region hack involving the remote control.
Now, when I try to play region 2 DVDs on it, it displays a message that the encoding of the disc does not match that of the player.
This is really annoying - Does anyone know the correct hack to get the player back to the way it was?
I contacted Philips, but they were no help at all.

It sounds like you did a hack to change it to say Region 1. Use the same hack again to return the unit to Region 2 or see if a code free option exists, typically select Region 0.

I`ve tried doing the hack again - no joy.

Hi...
Which remote control did you use to do the hack and which codes did you input?

I used the actual DVDR1000 remote control.
Play then 1 5 9 to display 11 spaces on the display.
Then 121 212 005 255
Then Play
Then powered off for 10 seconds then back on.

Hiya,
I`m not sure how this machine can be reset, however I do know you have to use a One4All remote control to make it multi-region. Using the players own remote will not work unlse you ant to change the region, and then it will only lock up after 25-30 times.
Using the One4All remote is the only way to make Philips DVD Players/Recorders multi-region.
Sorry I can`t help with resetting the machine, but hopfull someone might be able to from the information.
Hope everything works out.
