Page 1 of Toshiba SD-2109

I have a Toshiba SD-2109 set to region 2.

Does anyone know of a remote hack that can modify this machine to play Region 1 DVDs that I have recently received from the USA? I have reviewed this sites forums and there appears to be differing views as to whether this machine can be hacked using the remote provided with the player. I have checked the most recent response to this query posted by TheDVDFish on Thursday 21st August 2003 on the Hack Help forum. When I put in the disk the TV warns "not PAL" and the DVD player states "playback restricted" instead of a region map warning.

I have tried unsuccessfully to purchase a code from DVDcodes.co.uk and would appreciate any help that anyone can give.

Hi, i`ve just tried TheDVDFish`s hack on my 2109, and it worked fine. What I think you need to do is make sure that the player is set to accept PAL/NTSC. Go to the setup menu in stop mode and change this option from PAL to AUTO. Then try the whole hack again. Good luck!
