Page 1 of xwave firmware update

i have an xwave 900 series dvd that requires a firmware upgrade as there are a couple of region 1 dvd`s it wont play and it wont recognise any dvd-r discs my mate has same machine and his is fine i got mine some 12 months ago and his is fairly new
can anyone tell me how i go about updating the firmware or is there anyone in the merseyside area that will do it for me - (willing to pay}

I have the firmware upgrade for 900 series.
Do you know how to access an FTP site via an IP address, if so I`ll upload it for u.

many thanks for taking the time to reply to me
i do not know how to access anftp but my mate does and he says he will do it for me how difficult is it to do the upgrade once we have the upgrade

Spirit - is it anything like these procedures, which we use on Sampo players :
http://www.area450.com/firmware/burnfirmware.htm (to burn the ROM file onto CD-R)
http://www.area450.com/firmware/upgrade.htm (to stick the CD-R into the DVD player)
This is just so cdamedia can follow the guidelines there in.

All instructions come with the firmware upgrades. Just make sure you use the right the firmware with the right chipset your player has.
You do however need access to a cd writer.

hi there am Robbie i to do have a xwave dvd 1000k but i cant play the finding froster regane 1 dvd do u know the hack for this one.it dos play reagan 1 dvds but not that one could u please plase help me.ps i am new to this site thanks Robbie.
Spirit UK, can you tell me where I might get this new firmware (if its v2.5.171 - macro disabled) that your on about??? as I have a LB1000, and dont want to have to send my player away to get it updated :/
any chance ya could point me in the right direction? :)
