wanted: remote hacks for Grundig GDV 230
Hi all,
I just bought a Grundig GDV 230 at the weekend after being recomended by a sales assistant that, not only was it in my meagre price range, but also that it was either hackable/chipable. I`ve searched around on the net for hacks but had little success so far - in fact so far I can`t even find this particular model!
...anyway cutting to the chase...
does anyone on this forum know of a hack for this player or even if some of the other Grundig hacks might work and what (if any) dangers there might be?
Bye
Bill
RE: wanted: remote hacks for Grundig GDV 230
i have a grundig gdv220 try this
remove disc
press stop open/close and skip forword together (on the player NOT the remote)and hold for ten seconds and menu should appear with multi region options
this works on gdv220 worth a try i`d say good luck
let me know if it work

thanks for the advice - unfortunately it doesn`t seem to work! It could be that I`m not doing it right though - should the disc drawer be opened or closed when you try it?

RE: wanted: remote hacks for Grundig GDV 230
Use the hack for the Goodmans DVD3500. It is the same machine. Since it was only hacked yesterday, and you are not the searching type, here you go.
Open the drawer
input 9817 with the remote
Press enter till region 9 is selected
downarrow to macrovision and enter. This is now set to off.
Press return
The player now plays region 1 and 2
only problem is that region 1
dvd`s play in black and white...
So...
Leave draw open,
Press setup,
Enter video output and choose PAL,
Now it plays all regions in glorious full colour.
Credit for this goes to Josalka for the hack and Lostboy for the colour bit.
