does anyone know the hack regionise disk for the recorder to make it region free i have tryed

setup
go to padlock
then press 0 seven times and that dont work please help

have you tried pressing 0 eight times?

At your own risk (worked for me)

Press Clear on the the remote at the same time as pressing the open tray button on the recorder.

This should bring up a service menu with a list of opcodes
change OP6 from 24 to 04

Press OK then Power Button

You may lose some of the settings you have set previously

Hi, just bought this machine today.....

Tried the drawer and clear button thing, no go.

Went into setup, down to padlock, chose area code then `zero` eight times, worked like a charm.... region free.

I have tried both of the suggested hacks here, the one with the drawer and the button on the remote did nothing, the 8 zero`s entered gave access to two letters, currently set to GB, what do these need to be altered to to make the unit multi-regional? I tried a variety, such as MU, CA, US etc but no change, it would still only play Region 2 discs.

Any further detailed information on this would be very much appreciated.

Just got mine today, exact same problem, 8 0`s doesn`t do anything, the 16:9 brings up a screen but I can`t do anything on the screen. Any ideas? anone? thanks. jamiefer

you need to download lg5000 zip file and burn it to a disc im afraid to make this machine region free i manage to get hold of a copy from a link on the other lg hacks and it worked perfectly sorry not got the link available but a quick search on this site should help you find it.
