Got a Sony DVP NS300 which has been chipped, having no problems with it being Multi region as it`s sound. Just got 2 problems though that i`ve listed below. ANy help would be greatly appreciated.

i can`t play Audio CD`s that i have made myself, any ideas why?

Can`t always play VCD`s even though they are the same brand as the one`s that work, and also they all work instantly on my PC. Just comes up with a message saying "no disk"

If you can help then please e-mail me @ 86970nevets[at]moc.liamtoh

Try using Princo or Vivastar 80 mins (700 mgb) cdr`s and use Nero to burn them.

The NS300 is not rated to read CD-R or CD-RW media, as such you will have very little luck in getting home-burned Video CDs and Audio CDs to play on your machine. As Kota states above, good results have been reported on Sonys with Princo or Vivastar media. Try www.247cdr.co.uk

Just weird though how i`ve got Traxdata CDR`s that work on my DVD player, but then again some of the same one`s won`t play on it.

Is there nothing that can be done to the player to make it play them? As when it does play VCD`s it comes up with VCD highlighted on the left hand side.

Where can i get Princo or Vivastar for a decent price then?

Cheers for the replies as well lads :o)

Sorry m8, there`s no mod you can do on the player ...

The ones your player`s reads were burned in the same machine and at the same speed ?? If not, try to make different copies at different speeds and see how it goes but always use 700 mb cdr`s with the silver/greenish surface and avoid the 650 mb blueish ones and again use Nero since it`s considered to be the best software for this purpose.

I`ve also heard that the Sony reads VCD`s better from a cold start ..go figure :))

I reckon most computer hardware shops stock Princo/Vivastar cdr`s and they`re also quite cheap ...
