Key Lock

Sgt. (Harmless) posted this on Tuesday, 10th September 2002, 01:41

hi there!

first of all i want to thank sergeikot for posting the way to unlock a Thomson 210U
it also works perfectly on a THOMSON DTH 220 (E)
(player on, press menu button, then 1,6,7. It will ask for region code, press 0 (zero) for reggion free)
so THNX!!

but it leaves me with one question.
on almost every dvd there`s this copyright warning at the beginning of the disk and sometimes on the beginning of the film. This is most irritating, but you can`t skip it!:( i know you can`t skip because of a key lock witch is active than. I also know that it is possible to turn this function off.
I just don`t know how!

Does anybody out there know how to do this?
like i said before, I have a THOMSON DTH 220 (E)

(btw: I read in some forum `bout macrovision, is this what i`m looking for?)

thnx for your cooperation :)

Greetings

Sgt.

What you`re referring to is UOPs, standard warnings at the start of DVDs which you are obliged to read :-(

Some players let you bypass this (I think some Sony`s). It`s not Macrovision : that`s a whole different ball game.

try pressing MENU or NEXT when the next warning message comes up : sometimes works :-)

And if I recall correctly it`s where Disney likes to put the adverts, so you`re obliged to watch them too :-)
