That`s a nice looking deck. My first thought was that it was a Cosmictec deck (eg Haus) but it`s certainly not in their current range.

Wonder who makes it ?

Have to say I would avoid it like the plague. A bit harsh I know but if you are happy having to forever send a player back to scan for repair, ot if you like upgrading firmware... go for it.

As you say it does look good.

Had a scan 2000 for 12 months and havn`t had a problem with it.

If it`s any help, I`m getting one of these to review. I can let you have initial impressions once I have it out of the box.

I was very specifically trying to say "I`ll give you initial impressions" without saying "I`ll get the review done soon"... You should know that I like to really bang on my players before I write about them. I`m sure in the long run, people prefer my detailed reviews to the trash you get in the printed magazines which are typically just a list of specs, and then a single subjective statement about how good it it ?!?

Okay, my initial impressions are very good. It`s a VERY sleek player. Looks good. Functions very fast. Plays multi out of the box with a rich RGB output. No apparent firmware issues yet ;-)

It shouild play all the formats properly although on the dvd side you do need to use quality branded media and not the cheap spindle stuff.This design is so popular that they cannot get any more so expect a new design in a month.The specs will be identical.
