if i add a subwoofer only to my nicam tv and dvd player set up what will the effect be ? do i need to bother ??

You would need an amplifier or receiver to connect a subwoofer to unless you have a dvd player that has a subwoofer connection . Some panasonics do. Basically if you could connect it up it would make films more dramatic as explosions and the like sound a lot better.
