WHAT IS RCE???

zak1981 (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Tuesday, 10th December 2002, 11:33

HI all, i`m still pondring as to which first time DVD player to get with budget of around £100.
But I have read a couple of posts regarding RCE....what exactly is this and is it essential to consider??
I am still thinking of Toshiba sd220 or pioneer dv 350, any more suggestions are welcome still...

Thanks- Zak

RCE stands for regional coding enhancement, which means it`s extra region protection. most dvd players that are bought modified will play these discs anyway.
Also I`d go for the pioneer dv-350 if I was you as the picture and sound are meant to be superb, and you tend to hear about people having problems with the toshiba 220.
