looking for a player for a freind
Only problem he is the type of person that buys a product and sticks with it untill it basically stops working.
i was going to suggest the alba, or the tosh from richer sounds
any comments the build qauility of these
and any other players that have great build quality
ive always been impressed by sony/pioneer build quality
RE: Player that will last
Depends on what kinda money your mate wants to pay.
Tosh over alba any day
Tosh players are not known for their reliability(ask Bowf). Although you would have to go for the tosh over an alba anyday.

Says who? Have you actually tried an Alba DVD player (the 114 is superb) or is it just a matter of snobbery, like Skoda cars? ;-)

Buy the best Sony or Panasonic kit you can afford. I have Sony kit that`s still going perfectly after decades of use. That includes Betamax machines! (You can look these up in the museum).
Theres no garantee? that any make will last over another, had a sony player that lasted 6 months.

I got a panasonic player a year ago. I have 185 dvd`s. never had a problem with any film.
