Not sure of this DVD but if you have not already tried go to www.dvdrhelp.com. That site rates it at 8.1 out of 10. There seems to be a bit of a debate as to whether it can play DVD/R or DVD+R. Give it a read anyway.

PS I keep www.dvdrhelp.com in your favourites, it is amazing how many times you might need to get information on DVD`s or software.

Sorry should have added that there appears to be a region hack. Follow the link www.apache.co.uk/vision/ . Going by the info on the www.dvdrhelp.com page this enables you to create a disc that enables multi-region.

Its a very nice player indeed. Its getting some good press too, (5 star rating in what hifi, though take their reviews with a big pinch of salt..).

Recommended one to a colleague at work who wanted PAL Progressive and this is one of the cheapest to have the feature.

lovely sound and picture, and you`ve gotta love the looks :-)

Buy one and smile

I am biased as I sell them but I am honest too. If you want PAL prog scan you can not go wrong at the price.

It is a dealer upgrade for Pal prog and to make it multi region. Not a hand set hack.

It plays CDR, CDR-W, DVD+R, DVD+RW. I have just checked with HK and they say it will play DVD-R and DVD-RW.

Does your monitor accsept Componant in.

If not It`s still a good deck.

Any other questions give me a shout.

All the best,

The 42%er.

This might seem a stupid question but does progressive scan output work through scart, the reason that i ask is that i would like one of these players and i do have component inputs on my TV but the scart lead that i currently use cost £80 and i dont want to replace it just yet.

thnx guys,

not to worried about the prog scan at the mo cause not sure im gonna able to afford a projecter for a while yet, but its nice to have the option

i basically wanted a good quality all round dvd player that would also deal with audio well, and plays dvd-r/rw

the HK seems to fit all these very well, not to sure if dvd audio is a neccesity at the moment as the only title i would wish to play is "Metallica - Metallica"
