Page 1 of JVC AV25R28-EKS question

I have this television but not the surround spr100 speakers,my question is has anybody bought these speakers and what is the sound quality like when playing a dvd.do these speakers just produce dolby pro logic or dolby digital.

I have the TV and the SPR100 speakers.
Sound quality is great.Well worth the £35 extra.
It`s not dolby digital (5.1). It`s pro-logic.
Buy them and try something like the beach landing on Private Ryan or the asteroid chase from Attack of the clones.Superb surround sound.
I do actually have a seperate 5.1 system ( Sony HTK215 ) left over from my old TV but I`m not bothering wiring it up as the TV`s built-in speakers and sub are just as good, just as loud, and a damned sight more discrete.
OK,technically, it`s not as `good` as 5.1 but I`m damned if I notice the difference, and I`m happier not having seperate speakers sitting either side and on top of the TV.
The missus prefers it as well as she can work this surround sound.She never did get the hang of the 5.1 system.

I`m getting my new JVCR25 tomorrow- can`t wait. Hope there isn`t a problem with this "tilt" thing. Funny they don`t include an adjustment on the remote for this model. I`ve also ordered the spr100 speakers too. Is there space for them in the cabinet, or do they have to be placed elsewhere?

The spr-100 speakers are surround sound so they should go either side of your couch and not in the cabinet.Another tip take your time when putting up the stand it can get a bit confusing.

Here`s a wee tip for you
JVC give you 2 screws that go underneath the front of the stand,up into the telly. On the 3 stands I`ve built for myself and friends these screws are a pain in the ass.They are blunt ended things and are hellish to line up.Either don`t bother or use your own self-tappers.

You can actually use the pro-logic sound all the time.Pro logic makes surround sound out of any stereo signal.You can watch any TV programme with it.SKY football can be quite good using it.However I find normal TV,like godforsaken soaps, is best with any surround switched off.Save the surround for DVD`s.

I bought really smart silver stands for my SPR100`s from beyondhifi.net.
They are B-Tech BT10`s for around £24.The speakers attached to these in seconds and they have nice flat bases that will slip under a settee.
