NTL Digital - optical output?

drgoatboy (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Monday, 7th April 2003, 12:17

Does anybody know if the set top box that you get with NTL cable has an optical output?
I was thinking about getting it but if I do I want to hook it up to my Amp....

Does anybody know?

Thanks

The ntl digital box does not have a digital output. There are two versions, the earlier version has phono outputs as wel las the scarts but the newer version only has the scarts.
Ntl digital does not have digital sound only analogue, therefore you would need to conect it to your amp using the phono connections.

sky + does dolby digital on some box office and movie channels so I dare say that the box has a digital output.
Costs an arm and a leg though!
No british programs are transmitted in dolby digital anyway so why do you need the digital connection?
