panasonic DMR-E50 set up

slashman (Harmless) posted this on Tuesday, 6th May 2003, 17:00

I recently purchased a Panasonic DVD recorder DMR-E50, and am having problems setting it up to recognise sky broadcasts. Analogue programmes are downloaded successfully but not sky. Can anyone help?

How is it connected? (Scart I assume. Sky>Pan E50>TV).
Might be a silly thing, but have you checked on your AV channels (3 of them)?

Otherwise it might be to do with the setting in teh connection menu (AV1/AV2 Settings under Setup>Connections), you may need to change the input type.

Thanks for replying.

I`ve connected all three by scart as follows :-
The TV has Q link.
I`ve connected the AV1 scart socket on the recorder to the AV2 socket on the TV
Then the AV2 socket on the recorder to the dvd socket on the digital sat receiver.
Then the AV1 socket on the TV to the tv socket on the digital sat receiver
The aerial to the RF input on the recoder and a lead from the RF output to the TV aerial input.

Under set up connections i have AV2 input set to RGB, AV1 output to RGB and AV2 connection set to Ext Link 1.
Is this right?

Try putting the tv scart from the sat into AV2 in the recorder
and the AV1 from the recorder into the tv
and disable the ext link 1

thats the setup i have, make sure both connections are set to rgb for good pic
