Will I get better quality using S-Video to S-Video....

brigand1138 (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Sunday, 6th July 2003, 19:36

...as opposed to S-Video to scart? My TV only has Scart sockets and my DVD player only has Component and S-Video. And as I can`t afford a TV with Component inputs I`m limited to tv`s with S-Video. But is it worth it?

Basically - no, it makes bugger all difference. The signal is the same; all you`re doing is swapping one plug type for another.

Thankyou, you just save me forking out for a new TV. I`ll make a BIG spend on a component input TV in the future.

Thanks

Sounds like he has a REC 900 DVD deck - my mate has one, and he uses the S-Video connection.

brigand1138, if you`re looking for a telly with compononet in, get the Samsung SP-47W3HF. This cost £2,300 brand new, but I picked one up in Cash Converters for £900!!

Nope, it`s a Sharp DX-AT50, it comes with the Sharp SD-AT50H Home Cinema system, the only things wrong with it are the lack of a scart socket and no multi-region, I wouldn`t pay £399 for it, which is what it retails for, but I bought it for £199 in a sale :)
