I sold one of these to fellow forum member Big Adam, and quite safely say it is one of the best recievers ever made under £200. It manages to sound like a reciever at 3 times the price let alone bargain crazy £150 as i`ve seen at some places.

It;s powerful, has amazing surround processing, can drive almost any speaker and looks cool and has been screwed together and finished with an air of class.

Put simply i haven`t heard a reciever that side of £200 that delivers performance of this kind for a long long while - so lap one up while you can, it may not have `proper6.1`, but then again not a lot of rooms can accomadate 6 speakers - and the matrix 6.1 mode it offers is quite marvellous so no need to worry :)

Buy one whilst you still can - top banana indeed

Hi Westy

Thanks for your reply - I am now delighted that I bought the NS-P230 (I haven`t opened it yet as I don`t have a reciever) and can`t wait to get my hands on a rx-v430rds. Do you remember where you saw it for 150 as the best I can find is Richer Sounds at 180.

Best Wishes

Dan

Best price I`ve seen is http://www.leconcepts.com/ at £170. Big Adam did say a month back that there were places selling them for a £150 - perhaps he can do better - if memory serves me right was some ads in What HiFi or another mag - Adam ?

Regards,
Peter

Hello!

I`ll back up everything Westy claims about the Yammy 430RDS he sold me. It is one classy little performer.

I can`t seem to find it for the £150 I mentioned a while back. Think I saw it as a killer deal somewhere or perhaps at Superfi (where it was probably a return or ex-display unit)

LEConcepts are selling these for £169 inc P&P at the moment in either black or silver.

However, having stated how great this receiver is, my one is actually for sale! I`ve got the upgrade bug very quickly and I have the room for a 6.1 or 7.1 system! So the Yammy has got to go.

It is in perfect order apart from two small marks at front at the bottom. You`d barely notice unless they were pointed out. It`s the black version and comes complete with box, manual, remote etc. All yours for £125 inc P&P. If you live near Peterborough you`re welcome to come pick it up and I`ll knock a tenner off the price.

Big A

I let my mind wander....and it didn`t come back.

Had my Yamaha 5540rds (same model but in silver finish) since Jan and paid over 200 pounds from Richer sounds. (couldnt beat their price at that time)
Had no problems with it and have been very impressed with the sound quality :)
