Page 1 of Dolby Digital EX problem…

When I play certain DVDs with Dolby Digital EX soundtracks my A/V amplifier (Yamaha DSP-AX640) doesn't switch to EX mode.

The two DVDs with EX soundtracks that I've tried are "Star Wars: Episode II" and "Austin Powers 3", and both don't "work". However, I do have a Dolby demo disc which has an EX soundtrack and my amp has no problem picking up on it.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Don`t worry some dvd`s are flagged to switch to ex and some are not.If u want to know what flim has ex or dvd go on the dolby web site and u can find out whats ex encoded

Yes, I`m sure I read about that somewhere earlier this year.

When 6.1 first appeared all discs were flagged,but some amps were having problems so DD-EX stopped auto flagging.I got another title recently,can`t remember which one and it auto flagged.I find all DTS-ES discs do auto flag

Yes, I`ve tried a couple of DTS-ES titles and had no problems.
