What a bargain !!!!! Phillips dvdr 75

TED 1 (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Friday, 26th December 2003, 22:00

On 24/12/03 I checked Richer Sounds website and found the phil dvdr75 for
£199.99 for reg 2 and £219.99 for multi reg. I was going for the panasonic 50 but at
this price (with the DV i link) I decided on the Phillips ,they did`nt have the reg 2 so I settled for the multi reg. So far I am very pleased with it , I have recorded off TV, my
CAMCORDER and my VIDEO with very pleasing results
I have read in some forums about the reliability of Phillips but with the £30 3 yr
guarantee and the price I paid I am willing to try them out

£30 for a 3yr warranty is excellent value. The new range seem far more reliable than the earlier models.Good luck with it

So for £250 you`ve got yourself a good bargain (should this not be posted in the Bargain Buckets forum ? :D ). Is that a 1 year manufacturer`s warranty plus 3 or 1 year plus 2 warranty ? Whatever, at those prices it`s hardly worth bothering with the "supermarket specials" IMO.

Just wanted to say thanks for original post. Bought one in Colchester Richer Sounds on Sunday. No region 2 in stock, only Multi-Region at £219.99. Can live with that, as it is still cheaper than others selling the DVDR 70. :)

Just thought I would add!
The £30 is refundable in 3 years time as well, if you don`t make a claim on the warranty!
Absolute bargain!
AND they`ll give you a Mug, CD or Tape just for popping in! :)

So, would you say that this was comparable to the Panasonic £50, or far inferior?

"think the above link explains why prices for these are coming down"

Thank`s for that ,it could well be the reason for price drop.I am just glad they are dropping for whatever reason .
