Page 1 of Help with cable spec.
Hardware Forum
I just bought a Venturer PVS 17212 portable DVD player with travel kit. The kit comes comes with a cable to connect to a TV using 3 RCA plugs (red - audio L; white - audio R and yellow - video). I think the other end (for the PVS 17212) is a 3.5mm jack.
Unfortunately I took it on holiday and it looks like the cable has been lost.
Does anyone know what a sensible description would be for this cable so I can do a web search (lots of hits for 3.5mm jack to 2 RCA plugs but not 3 plugs) or even better where a replacement can be bought ?
Also anyone know where I can get a UK power supply for this unit. Output is 9v 2000mA (but I don`t know the plug spec for the DVD player - happy to use some sort of converter which I know you can buy).
Any help or advice would be appreciated.
Thanks
Neil Henderson

It sounds like the same cable that I use to output from my Camcorder to my VCR. You can get one on ebay here.
Can`t help on the power supply thing - sorry! Do you have a branch of Maplin locally? They might be able to help. Alternatively try their website www.maplin.co.uk.

Cable looks perfect - just what I wanted. Thanks for the help.
Maplin has a 1200mA PSU which I`ll try.
Much thanks for the help and advice.
Before buying that power supply, check to see what power the player needs and get one rated just over.
Reason I say is if you buy the 1200mA PSU and the player uses 1500mA then you will be overloading it which causes the PSU`s to cut out so it may not be any good.
Also Maplin sell those cables to 3.5 jack to 3 rca for a couple of pound.
All the best
Ger.
