Cyberhome Recordable DVD Player Price: £169.99 - Not exactly a bargain bucket price, (but looks a nice unit compared to the Mico) havent seen one in the flesh & priced the same as the Relysis unit in Staples.

For those that want it, it has a Firewire port acccording to CH website.

Finally spotted this unit in Exeter WHS on Saturday, the Yamada 8000 is £20 quid cheaper there (Cheaper still at Richer Sounds I beleive), has progressive scan, more connections & is MR (if not already) by a firmware flash.

If Mac users are "more intelligent than the average computer user," why do they need an operating system designed for complete idiots?

No RGB input, so far as I can see. If you`re going to record off a Sky Box, for example, I think RGB input is a must.

Hi Vidfreak
Did you find a region hack for this recorder?
Asda are doing it for £119.
Should I buy it?

As a Cyberhome DVD400 person, just be aware that there have been issues re: Cyberhome and integrity of their machines. They blow up (is the essential argument)

Not dismissing the thread but for £20 more (including the p+p in that) you can have the brand new Panasonic DMRES10 (multi-region) ... a million times better recorder.
