Ive been seraching for the creative Zen at a good price for ages now and no mater how hard i try i cant seem to get it below the dixons price.

Does anyone know if it is any cheaper anywhere else than 150 notes? it seems like a bragin although i wud prefer it to be cheaper

:) if you go to novatech,they are doing the creative 30gig for £144.00 a BARGAIN!!!!!and if you look around they are even doing a very nice looking 20gig npod for £128.00 have a look. :B

I bought a creative zen 60gb from pixmania for about £187 delivered excellent gadget but it doesnt seem very loud, if you were using in a noisy environment you would struggle to hear it

Me too (although got the 20gb version). Just out of interest did you get a European one with a 2 point plug? I did, and couldn`t be bothered to send it back so paid £1.50 for an adaptor, but I thought it was a bit of a cheek...

yes i did get the european adaptor and yes i couldn`t be bothered to get a uk one either. use the one for my camcorder

They sent me an adaptor plug with the player - big lump in the packaging!

So are Pixmania off shore - is there an import/custom fee?

Pixmania are based in France, they do have a shop in London though, I have bought 3 digital cameras and a a few other things as well and have not been charged at all woth customs or VAT or anything. Although I don`t like their customer service thats another story you only pay the price it says on the website!

Apparently European Creatives have the firmware set so the volume can`t exceed a certain level. The US versions have a higher upper volume.

A friend of mine bought a Creative Zen and he downloaded a firmware update from the Creative US website and it made his Zen a whole lot louder.
