Page 1 of Freeview Box, looking for some recommendations approx £50\£60 please

Title says it all really, anyone recommend a good box with all the relevant features EPG, Scarts, text, etc.

I`ve just got a Philips DTR500 box - picture quality is brilliant with all features you could want - twin scarts, audio & digital sockets etc. (Price approx £70.00). Can be obtained from Comet, Argos etc
However, I`ve also just seen a good freeview box on special offer at ALDI (£33.00) starting this Thursday - also twin sockets etc. Don`t be put off by Aldi, since although it`s a well known budget store, it sells quality items. Check it out below. Good Luck.

I think the important feature for a free view box is the EPG ( Electronic Program Guide ).

Almost all of the < £60 boxes only have a Now & Next program guide, that is what is on each channel now and the next program.

The more expensive Philips & Sony have an 7 or 8 day EPG, showing all programs for all channels for the next 7 or 8 days. usually with the facility to select programs for automatic viewing

As I have Sky+ with my main TV, a EPG is not the most inportant thing for me.
I`m looking for a small freeview box to use in a bedroom, so for me the smaller the box the better, as its going on a shelf alongside a new LCD :D

close to the edge, have a look at the Argos site, there are 11 boxes at their site.

We have an "old" On Digital refurb Sony box.

Work this out:
It worked when the aerial was in the Loft (except BBC Channels).
We moved aerial to roof and not a sausage!
All terestrial reception is OK (except cannot get 5).

We thought of trying a new box hence the original question, do you think a new box will help or should we persevere with trying to get the old Sony to work?? :/
