5.1 home cinema

shellytots (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Saturday, 12th November 2005, 12:50

Can anyone help me?

I am looking for a 5.1 surround sound system for my tv. I used to have a lg home cinema in a box and it worked great for 2 years but it has just died on me. Can anyone suggest a reasonably priced one. I want to be able to watch my dvd`s and the tv in surround sound.

No good asking these lot, I asked that I think last year and the only decent ones they recommend were seperates which costs over 2 or 3 grand.

Which is pointless really seeings that DVDs don`t even produce proper Digital Theater Sound, and you can only have them at a certain level without p***ing off your neighbours, and having the enviorment agency knocking at your door.

I bought a TEAC system a couple of years ago (maybe 5?!) that was fantastic - only £150ish, and does exactly what it says on the tin. May be a new equiv. system?

I bought the Panasonic 520 earlier in the year (multi-region, £150 from Richer) - it`s fantastic!! :D
