Liteon 5026. Help plz

logic (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Thursday, 1st December 2005, 10:16

I have the liteon 5026 (which the quality is brill). The problem i am having is. Sometimes the liteon will ignore the weekly timer i have set up. Sometimes it will start, i get the time 00:00 but it sticks on this and will not record. Will an update cure this.

Which leads me onto the next question. I have the firmware LNJDE197.DA0 which i wrote on to a cd-rw but nothing happens when i put it in to the player.

Any help plz.

For starters get yourselves over to the Liteon forum, here: ccgi.mgillespie.plus.com/liteon/smf/index.php

Over there we have firmware pools and can pretty well supply whatever version you need.

I`m curious - why are you trying to use such out of date firmware? Version 203 is the current version and surely the better option unless you have a specific reason not to.

If a firmware disc is not taken when first inserted, remove it and reset to default in the set up menu then insert it again. If that doesn`t work, turn the machine off with the disc inside and power it back up so it reads ot on boot up.

One or the other of those 2 options will work.

By the way, that weekly timer option is a recognised bug with the Liteons. Your best bet is not to use weekly timer settings at all but to manually reenter the timer setting each week. You`ll be able to find out more about the pronlem on the forum.

I hope to see you over there. :)
