hi just bought a artec 16x dvdrom for my pc it came with windvd software does anyone know how to make it multiregion it has a region box which you can only change 4 times can you do any sort of hack for it ta very much!

there are 2 things you might want to do, download a program called dvdgenie.it allows you to play all regions under windvd. 2nd you might want to find a multi region firmware for you dvd drive,this will allow you to use dvd-rom features.

If you update the firmware it will allow you to play DVD`s from different regions. Eg US region 1

Is there anything like this availible for the Pionneer DVD Rom116? I use Power DVD software and again i can only change this 3 times.

You can make your drive region free (RPC-1) by using this patched 1.09 RPC-1 firmware - patch by PHiL (with XVI help).
A new version 1.22 RPC-1 is available. Patch by Mr.Kirill.
