Page 1 of Acoustic Solutions DVD551??

Does anyone know anything about this player/company? This machine is advertised on the Richer Sounds web page as multi-region, the stats look good on paper, and it is only £119 - is it worth it?

Its not a bad player for it specs it does what it says on the box and it is multiregion via the hack but don`t expect it to be as good as the tosh 210 which beats all dvd players by far so if you can afford the extra £100 go for the tosh but if you are on a tight budget the DVD551 is a good buy.

Having just had a quick look at the specs, I`d say go for it.
Richers do have that Toshiba matey mentioned for £187.95 which does look good.

Switch machine on without disc
Press setup
Then press buttons in following order on remote
NEXT - STOP - PAUSE - PREV - NEXT
This will take you to the loopholes menu
From here you can pick the which region you want or pick bypass to make region free but not RCE free. Sorry no macrovison disable available via this menu.

Regional Coding Enhancement - put on some R1 discs to stop people playing them, even if their player is modified. Most modifications (hardware) these days try to work around it, and the majority of remote hackable players, where you can manually select Region 1 via a sequence of numbers (hack), as with the Acostic, will laugh in the face of it.
